The blade seems nice and has great stabbing/thrusting power. The sharpened edge they put on it was good. The sheath is not so great. The sheath has no belt attachment points and it seems somewhat flimsy. The sword falls out of the sheath very easily also.

If you are into short swords this blade makes a fine addition to your collection. The only problem I find with it is the handle is a little short for my hand and a small crack in the wood by the upper stud. I had it sharpened before shipping and as always they did a great job on it.

I bought one of these from Atlanta Cutlery close to fifteen years ago. Excellent investment- I have used it to fell small trees, limb, chop and split logs and have even dug a few holes with it. I keep one side sharpened to a utility edge for heavy work, the other somewhat sharper for slicing. All around great tool. A little 1000grit sandpaper and a buff with mirror glaze every few years keeps it looking respectable.

A top quality piece of gear, Windlass has outdone themselves with this blade.

Excellent hand forged blade - can see slight ripple variations in the highly polished blade surface attesting to the forging but blade is perfectly straight - excellent craftsmanship! Love this knife, especially for the price. One downside is the small grip area, since I have wider hands, and that is the ONLY reason I gave it 4 stars, rather than 5. Such a value and favorite knife of mine, that I am replacing-reworking the handle to lengthen it. If this works satisfactorily, I will be buying a couple more!
