I have seen and handled many replicas of this sword at reenactments and events, offered by a number of traders, which are cheap copies made in Pakistan and India, but this Windlass made Cavalry sword is a true sword in all aspects of materials and workmanship. Dealing with the folks at Atlanta Cutlery was a pleasure, I got twice the amount of satisfaction for the price. Kelly Atkins. P.S. I normally don't write reviews.

One of my Favorite Sabers! Well Balanced and Delightful to hold. The Fit and Finish are Superb, and the attention to detail is Also Superb! I have no complaints or concerns about this saber and highly recommend it. Ed

The hand forged blade of the M-1860 Light Cavalry Saber is British military spec steel that will flex over 20° and return to true. Leather handle is wire wrapped. Curving blade is superbly designed for penetration (thrust) and as a slashing weapon. Originally copied from an earlier French issue saber and manufactured in the North and in Europe for the lads in blue. Our excellent reproduction is hand made and ready for use. A stout steel scabbard completes this legendary sword.
