It does look good but it will not fit a real M1 Garand rife. I have tried it to put it on my real Springfield Armory M1 Garand and it will not fit. I have the standard length war surplus bayonet that does fit easily. The problem is the female slot in the handle of the long bayonet is not alined right for the male slot of a real M1 Garand. Maybe this bayonet was made for a non-firing replica M1. Anyway as long as it is sharpened in makes a good short sword.

As a wall hanger this is an ok M1942 repo but will not stand close scrutiny. Blade is nicely finished. Ricasso stamps are not distinct and believe the makers stamp is supposed to be RIA which is inaccurate. Scales are gloss painted black and original scales will not fit. Took some fitting to get it into an original WWII scabbard.
