The P-1885 Long Lever Martini Infantry Rifle was initially issued with an 18" bladed sword bayonet with a fullered blade and leaf spring on the locking mechanism. This was the P-1887 MK I. Complete with steel mounted leather scabbard.

For its age, this hand-selected example is in excellent condition. The leather scabbard shows very little degradation and is very supple. The steel mounts were covered with dried grease which was easily removed. The bayonet has been blued and both the British inspector's markings and Napalise markings on the blade have become difficult to distinquish without the aid of a magnifying glass. The grips are solid but oil soaked.
