More than 27,000 WC 56 and WC 57 (with winch) 3/4 ton Command Cars were produced from 1942 to 1945 by Dodge for the US Armed Forces and their Allies. The Dodge Command Car was used for front line reconnaissance and often fitted with a long range radio set just behind the back seat.  Other uses were in a command role often transporting high ranking military officials.  Our highly detailed metal transport model with winch and canvas top is painted in a distressed olive drab color as if it had just returned from a front line mission.

This is a copy of my Command Car down to the "Lil' Bear" nickname I call my Wife that I painted on in 1998. I notice a winch in the rear trunk, (not on mine or an original) the grab handle above the drivers seat I installed, down to the bumper numbers I painted on. I'm not too impressed with a front axle that looks to be a coat hanger, or the porportions (Check out the real one here: http://vmpa. ordnancereproductions .com/gallery/ members_winget.htm by scrolling down) Wish they would have asked, I could have let them measure and make it a really great product.
