Arguably, the most famous AFV (armored fighting vehicle) of the 20th century, the Panzerkampfwagen VI struck fear into the hearts of Allied soldiers on the Eastern and Western fronts in Europe during WWII. Approximately 1300 were manufactured, a very low number when you consider there were about 48,000 Sherman tanks and over 60,000 T-34 tanks manufactured by the Allies. The 4" thick frontal armor was impervious to all Allied anti-tank guns. Only the rear of the Tiger Tank, at a relatively short range, was vulnerable to the Sherman's 76mm gun. Weighing in at 56 tons and sporting an 88mm gun that could slice through a Sherman at over 1,000 yards it was a forbidable opponent. Its' Achilles Heel was its great weight. Mechanically unreliable combined with an overly complicated design contributed to its lack of impact on the outcome of the war. Our all metal, highly detailed model features a rotating turret.
