The Wakizashi from Hanwei features a deeply lacquered blue saya and Japanese cotton tsuka-ito, and like the katana (501256) the Oriole appears on the koshirae. The blade is hand-forged in high-carbon steel and is edge-tempered to display a distinct hamon. Built for cutting, the edge hardness is HRC60 and  back hardness HRC40.
