Cleaning Jag for Martini Henry Rifle

This is an original British Martini Henry Rifle cleaning jag, first adopted in June 1871 as the Mark I and altered in April 1876 to the Mark II configuration. The records remain, but not one single sample exists in any public collection (see page 546, Treatise on the British Military Martini by Skennerton.)  Now we have discovered a small supply of these steel jags that accompanied every issued Martini Rifle.
