This Scottish dirk blade is made from hand-forged, 1085 high carbon steel.  It Rockwells between 45-55 and is nicely polished with a round tang and a 5" hand tooled pattern on the blade back.  Made by Windlass Steelcrafts.

The blade is amazing! It's only problem is the tang tapers and flattens out, so one must grind it down to affix a guard. Other than that, it looks great and is inexpensive.

Have used many of these dirk blades and have found them easy to work, hold and edge well and pretty tough for the price. Not great but certainly not bad.

Great for making your own dirk. Can be left unsharpened for show, or will take a nice edge. I've made two nice knives with these blades.

They forget to tell you that "Windlass Made In India" is stamped on the other side of the blade. Blade useless...
