Was not sure what to expect, but was pleasantly surprised.  Good quality steel.  Does not beg for attention but is silently deadly looking.  I don't go around stabbing bottles or random pieces of wood.  It to be used as a tool.  Can be used to stab and slash.  Yepper, I would recommend it.

Review of: 19th Century Fire Axe

I have many original and replica axes in my collection and this is one of the finest.
At first it appears to have a peculiar balance because the blade is so wide but as I used the cutting edge to clear brush and trim trees, and the pick to cut irrigation trenches I found the axe to be light, fast, and very manageable. I immediately wanted to order another as I will surely continue to work this one very hard.

Review of: Boker Arbolito Esculta Ebony Fixed Blade Knife

This knife caught my eye while browsing last month's catalogue. I thought about it, then pulled the trigger, intrigued by the product description and the N695 steel. I thought it would be an ideal utility knife for our rural homestead. It was every bit of what I expected, and quite a bit more. By that, I mean that it is a large, heavy hunting knife, tough enough to handle any task. Therefore, I will continue to use my old Gainey skinner around the house, and this beautiful knife will likely find its way under the Christmas tree for my elk hunting son. To sum up, it's not quite "Crocodile Dundee," but bigger and heavier than it looks in the listing.
