OVERVIEW
This Natural American Buffalo Rib Bone Obsidian Blade Knife is handmade using traditional methods: grinding, abrading, percussion, and pressure flaking. On one side of the bone is a beautifully engraved scrimshaw scene of a buffalo on the prairie. The obsidian blade is attached using sinew.
Each knife is handcrafted using naturally occurring materials, making as few alterations as possible to preserve the natural beauty. Handles are minimally worked to save most of the original shape. The color, grain, and shape of the knife you receive will vary. The scrimshaw engraving is one of a kind and will vary from the one shown. Comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. Knife Stand available separately.

Please note: Obsidian color may vary from the photo. We are not able to guarantee a specific obsidian color. Obsidian is formed from the erupted lava of a volcano. Although black is the most common color, it can be brown, tan, or green. When hematite (iron oxide) is present, it produces red and brown varieties. If tiny gas bubbles remained in the lava flow during crystallization, green varieties were created, as well as others with a golden sheen, or types with dark bands or mottling in gray, green, or even yellow.
