This is an exact replica of the sword used onscreen in the classic movie Conan the Barbarian. From the intricate details on the guard and pommel to the deep runes on the powerful blade, this is truly a masterful reproduction by the master craftsmen at Windlass Steelcrafts.
The sword named Glamdring was forged by the high Elves of the West, in the hidden city of Gondolin. Glamdring survived, only to be found thousands of years later by Gandalf and his companions. This authentically detailed replica is a reproduction of the actual filming prop built used in the motion picture, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. The Glamdring sword is 475/8" overall, featuring a 351/4" tempered AUS-6 stainless steel blade. Solid metal hilt parts, faux blue jewel gemstones and a genuine leather-wrapped grip. It is presented with a wood wall display and includes a certificate of authenticity.
Having been a fan of the original movie since it debuted in the eighties I was delighted when the three swords were offered at prices far more reasonable than those made by the movie sword maker Jody Samson. When I took Valeria's sword out of the box, I was shocked by its weight and construction. There is no doubt in my mind that the actress was using a FAR lighter weapon in the movie, whereas Robert E Howard would have heartily approved of this beast!!! Well done, ACC and thank you!!!
