If Samurai still existed, they’d appreciate this modern, fully functional Katana design. The traditionally made blade is combined with modern, more durable materials for the grip and scabbard. Deep fullers (bo-hi) are ground on both sides of the blade to lighten the sword. The blade is 1566 carbon steel differentially tempered the time honored way, but the double pinned handle is crafted of textured G10 for superior grip and toughness. Each side features an embedded dragon menuki. The Rockwell hardness on the edge is 60, and on the back is 40.
The textured saya (scabbard) is updated with a modern polymer kurikata and kojiri wrapped with paracord. Crafted with care by Dragon King Forge. Matching wakizashi and tanto with a dragon motif also available.
