OVERVIEW

Cast iron novelty banks like this skeleton were extremely popular from 1870 to 1900, and this working replica shows why. They weren’t the most flawless functioning toys in their day, but they were durable and awesome to collect and play with.

 

Our turn-of-the-century style skull has been sandcast in heavy iron and hand-painted just like the originals. A lever behind the bust controls the simple movement of the outstretched hand and eye. The closed eye opens as the hand raises to take in your haunted earnings. This Skeleton is not exactly Fort Knox with all the bony openings, but a fun, eerie conversation piece.
