OVERVIEW

Protect with purpose. Designed by a special ops veteran, the Xan™ (z-ann) tactically inspired everyday carry folding knife is your pocket-sized security system. Built for reliability, this tactical EDC knife translates combat-ready features seamlessly for garage, outdoor, and daily carry use.

Forged By War® designer Darrin William Sirois dreamed up the Xan™ (which translates to “protector” in Greek) in his shop in Fayetteville, North Carolina. This thin, lightweight design packs a high-carbon stainless steel clip point blade with a bead blast finish, offering durability, corrosion resistance, and everyday cutting performance.

The lightweight handle is constructed with black carbon fiber with a black G10 base on the front, paired with sleek stainless steel on the other side for strength and balance. Engage the thumb stud and open the blade about 30 degrees, and the OutBurst® spring assist takes over. The blade springs to life and stays securely in place with a strong frame lock.

When closed, the internal mechanism holds the blade safely in position. The pocket clip offers two carry options—tip-up or tip-down, making this CRKT Xan folding knife comfortable and adaptable for everyday carry. A true tactical titan disguised as an EDC knife.

About the Forged By War® Program:

In 2013, Ryan Johnson of RMJ Tactical, designer of elite military tactical tomahawks, approached CRKT with news that he had been working with combat veterans returning from war with varying degrees of post-traumatic stress (PTS). To help work through their challenges, they began designing and forging steel into custom tools, inspired by real-world combat experience.

CRKT® cares deeply about returning veterans and saw an opportunity to give back to the community that helped shape the brand. In 2016, they launched the Forged By War® program—a collection of mission-ready tools designed by veterans, with a portion of proceeds donated to the veteran designer’s charity of choice.
