This Sword of Charles V / Carlos I is a deluxe edition from Marto of Spain. It is one of the most spectacular swords in the history of Spain. Charles V, also known as Carlos I of Spain, was a Duke of Burgundy and Holy Roman Emperor. He was the ruler of both the Spanish Empire from 1516 and Holy Roman Empire from 1519, as well as of the Netherlands from 1506 until he voluntarily stepped down from these and other positions by a series of abdications between 1554 and 1556.
This stunning ceremonial replica has a fully tempered AISI 440 stainless steel blade with 24K gold etchings of the shields of the Hapsburg Empire and Castilla-Leon-Granada, Aragon-Sicily, Austria, Burgundy, Brabant, Flanders, and Tirol. The guard has ornate tips, the Zamak grip is wire wrapped leather and the pommel is dual outward curving fins that flatten out. The pommel and guard are cast metal with a 24K gold plated finish.
