OVERVIEW

Circa Mid 10th Century
The original Suontaka sword was found in a woman''s grave in Finland. The grave dates from C 1100AD, however the sword form suggests a much earlier date of origin, possibly as early as mid 10th Century AD.

Our stunning version of this piece features a highly detailed knot work pommel, guard, grip band and inserts. All have been lavishly plated in rich copper. The tough 1065 high carbon steel blade has a full tang and is fully tempered, then peened over the pommel. The sword comes complete with a rich leather scabbard and matching copper fittings and sports a baldric for wearing this powerful piece. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts.

Can be personalized with 3 initials.

Viking Treasure
With this sword I think I could pillage Europe on my own this is a beautiful and well made item.   I looked over every inch of the sword itself and it was exactly what I had hoped for, sturdy, strong, tight and well balanced.   The blade was sharpened too and it's sharp, trust me.

The scabbard was great but the copper over lay was a little darker than I expected but matched the handle so it worked.

The packaging was pretty impressive too I think it took me 10 minutes to get it out of all the wrapping so I'm totally impressed.
