This is the sword issued during the last half of the 18th century to British Marines, the Royal Artillery, and county militias. Most examples carried an Ordnance stamp struck into the base of the blade in the form of a crowned numeral, or less often a "Crowned Broad Arrow."
This limited edition replica commemorates the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Both sides of the blade are etched with "USA", "1776-2026", “250 Years Of Liberty”, the 13-star Betsy Ross flag, and the Stars and Stripes flag.
The cast brass hilt has a heart-shaped guard with reinforced edges, a plain knucklebow, a bulbous quillon, and an ovoid pommel with a capstan. The grip has a wooden core with twisted brass wire wrap. The factory-sharpened blade is slightly curved with fullers running down the spine for most of its length. Includes a leather scabbard with brass chape and throat. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts.
