The pattern of this British pith helmet is associated with British colonial expansion and foreign service history. These are handmade in Vietnam who learned the art from the French during their occupation. The pith helmets can be immersed in water (outer shell only), whereby the wearer stays cool during use on hot summer days plus they were light and airy while providing protection from the sun. Made of pith, covered in cotton twill with faux leather, adjustable sweatband and chin strap. One size fits most.
