Germany entered WWII with the M-35 helmet as standard issue (M-16 and M-18 helmets were still in use too). Due to wartime demands in 1942 the M-42 design was put into production. The rolled edge of the M-35 on the shell was eliminated, creating an unfinished edge along the rim. This edge slightly flared out, along the base of the skirt. The elimination of the rolled edge expedited the manufacturing process and reduced the amount of metal used in each helmet, without sacrificing protection.
This high quality reproduction from Windlass Steelcrafts has dark green matte finish, leather adjustable head liner and chin strap. Size S/M (56).

Helmet color is perfect, chin strap is a good reproduction. Lots better than many helmets I have seen in some movies about WW2. Good reproduction.

This helmet is very well made and historically accurate. The leather webbing inside is also very well made. Excellent quality throughout. It looks like it just came off the assembly line in 1942.

I also have a real one and the only difference is the new paint and leather on the replica. Side by side the helmets look the same. Very good replica.
