Overview

These original battle kukris were made prior to 1890. Some were made much earlier, but it’s difficult to determine the exact date. Each kukri is hand made; the steel was smelted, forged, shaped and hammered in Nepal by individual Kamis. As spears and the Kora sword were being replaced by firearms, the kukri was the weapon of choice for hand-to-hand combat.

This longleaf kukri was made for war. It has a straighter spine and longer blade than bhojpure, and in the skilled hands of the Gurkha it became a frightening weapon indeed. These have all seen service with both the Nepali military and the British Army. All of the blades are marked in Devangari script with the date of manufacture. This comes complete with original scabbard and 2 small kukri knives.

We can hand select the best one for an additional fee. Also available without scabbard (#401124) and reproduction scabbard with 2 small knives (403579).

Great Antique
Wonderful antique, superb old steel that can be cleaned up easily to a great display. The inscription on the spine is amazing. Scabbard is old but still in presentable condition. I will order other Kukris from this group!

Full of Character
The kukri I purchased is definitely well used and old as hell but still very usable. I was so happy with it, I bought another one.

beautiful knife.

blade is in very good condition, no nicks or flaws. handle has one minor nick in pommel. otherwise perfect and quite useable.

the sheath is elderly, but is in excellent shape, not dry not torn. obvious wear from use, but needing no repairs.

this kukri was advertized as coming with the two small utility knives, but they were not included with the sheathed knife. i contacvted customer service, and they immediately sent me two small knives

Just got  this kukri today. It arrived in very good condition coated in easily removable grease The kukri is definitely hand-forged and still has a sharp edge. The scabbard arrived in fair condition; very dry and although complete needing some repairs. The accessory pouch on the scabbard was also in fair condition and  also needs repairs. The accessory knives included did not match: One was a kukri-style patch knife in poor condition; the brass furniture was missing and the handle was in rough shape. A little bonus though; this knife had never been sharpened! It also had a mini scabbard hidden in the accessory pouch. The other accessory knife was a utility/hunter type blade that appears to be machine-made out of cheap Pakistani stainless steel; very dull and probably not that old. Overall a decent kukri but the rest either needs repairs or just doesn't match as a set.
