Naval Officer Sword Belt
The belt is faux leather top stitched and wrapped to an inner rough-out leather strap.  All the metal parts are caste in metalized brass.  The buckle has the 1850s style eagle and stars emblem on the face.  It has a prong to lock it into a series of holes and the wild end has a cast metal tip.  There are two sword straps with latches to hold the scabbard.  The sword hangs off the belt as there is no shoulder strap to the Naval style belt.  The belt runs small so I suggest ordering one size larger than your true waist size.  I had to punch a hole to fit my larger waist size rather than wait for a replacement.  It's fine for Civil War recreations where authenticity isn't questioned.  I have an officer's sword belt made from top grade leather and machine stitching.  It's a reproduction of the original belt used by both Northern & Southern forces which is the prefered style & construction for authenticity.

Excellent Product
I purchased this belt many months ago for a historic naval officer's kit and am very pleased.  It fits well, serves well and looks great.
Because I am a very short guy I did have to make some alterations but that was easily done and such a necessity should not keep anyone from making this purchase.

Navy Officer Sword Belt
Looks great, authentic to original appearance.  Only problem is that the clips on the slings are too small for some of the original sword sling rings.  My sword is about 80 years old, carried by my father and me.  The old belt shrank in the dark closet.  Will have to adjust/modify the clips to fit for use.
