This is the best modern reproduction stock because it’s the only reproduction stock. (Well IMA sells one but it might just be the same product.) That said this really won’t work as is. I had to do a lot of sanding and some chiseling to make the stock fit. I did mount it to a Nepalese Francotte model so that might account for some of my problems. But there are no holes drilled for the forend tip screw or rear barrel band pin. The cut-out for the lever to sit in isn’t even in the right; it’s like a couple inches too far. The buttstock wouldn’t fit in the slot. The wood around the forend of the stock was too big to accommodate the forend cap. So, this is really something you have to work at for a couple days and may even require some more specialized tools. The stock does appear to be hard wood though I’m not sure. The finish is good. And the overall cut of it is very professional. This is the best alternative to painstakingly trying to fix an aging, cracked, and splintered stock
