This limited edition of our Primitive Bowie has an etched blade (both sides are etched) commemorating the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence (“Semiquincentennial”, if you like technical terminology), displaying the words “250 Years Of Liberty” and both the Betsy Ross flag (with 13 stars) and the current Stars and Stripes.
The first Bowie knives were large, tough, and sharp! Despite the size of this Bowie, the overall weight is only 1-1/2 lbs. But don't let the weight fool you; we cut down a 4" sapling in no time, and the blade would still shave. The high carbon steel blade has a needlepoint tip and arrives sharpened. The hardwood grip is 5-1/4", and the brass guard is 4-3/4". The brass strip on the spine is an intentional device designed to catch the edge of an attacker's blade during a parry. Includes a heavy duty, black leather sheath with integral belt loop and handle retaining strap. Made by Windlass Steelcrafts.
