Used in very good to excellent condition, this helmet is made to the same specifications as the US M1 Helmet except it comes with a molded plastic liner. Many West European nations adopted the US M1 helmet after WWII, some with different liners. Denmark adopted this helmet in 1948 and it was in use until 1992. Denmark was originally issued with surplus US helmets with fiberglass resin liner, however these liners did not hold up in the humid Danish climate and were replaced with plastic liners. Later, Austria made complete helmets and supplies them to Denmark and other West European countries.
The webbing and straps are intact and the liner is solid. The steel pot might have some minor dings and scuffing from normal use.We do not know where these helmets were manufactured but, to the best of our knowledge, they have only Danish markings. The grey steel pots have a rear seam and movable bales. The grey plastic liner features the post-war adjustable leather and fabric head band. The helmet and liner are stamped on the inside with "CF" and the Danish crown. The crates have a wood frame with tempered fiberboard exterior panels and are marked "C.F.5 IIJELUME COMPLET". Single helmets also available.
