I absolutely love this set up. I bought a pair of them. My first impressions is that they are not perfect in terms of fit and finish. What they look like are pieces that been handed down from a river boat gambling ancestor.
The knife and scabbard are high carbon steel. As such, they will stain if they are not coated with a light layer of oil. If you like the patina, let it go ahead and stain, It will probably look cool after time. I like mine shiny. So if a stain develops, I just use some 2000 grit sand paper and it buffs right out.
It has 2 screws on the side with holds down the blade retention system. It is very crude, but very cool indeed. It will scratch the blade when it is sheathed or withdrawn. That is just the nature of the beast. Again, some fine grit sand paper will buff it right out.
There is a pant or boot retention clip that is tightened by a thumb screw. This is by far the most comfortable in the waist band carry Push Dagger set up I own, and I have numerous. Also a cool boot carry system as well.
Atlanta Cutlery states that these are now in close out status so I just ordered 2 more. I hope they come out with different variations of this knife.
I love these these knives. Thanks Atlantic Cutlery

Sheath...so-so absolutely no cutting edge? i thought the $15 was for a super edge if you had said no edge i would have let you sharpen it

The construction throughout is excellent. The steel sheath is high quality with a unique tensioning clip. It sticks out a lot and wouldn't be useful for concealed carry but it's still cool. One drawback is that the knife is very loose in the sheath, wish there was some way to tighten up the fit. The grip of this blade is excellent, it feels good and it's pretty substantial (I have average size American hands :P). The blade has "Windlass - Made in India" etched into the ricasso. I think this is a great deal.

The push-dagger arrived with a very sharp edge, and I am pleased with it overall. I did however find the grip of the handle to be a little large, despite having large hands.

Expect the sheath to scratch the blade when it is withdrawn. If you ask for it to be sharpened, know that the blade angle will be too wide to be really effective. Expect to invest a lot of elbow grease to get the edge into satisfactory condition. The bone handle can be sculpted with sandpaper to get a true custom grip.

For the price I guess its ok. I thought it would be of better quality. The water Buffalo horn is not finished to polished finish. The sheath has some pits in the finish and scratches the blade every time you put the knife back into it. If your a collector and are going to keep it on the shelf probly wouldn't matter. Its not all bad the sheath does clamp securely onto a boot. I bought two one for me and one as a gift. Not sure if I'll give the gift or not tang says "Windlass India" and unfortunately after close inspection it just looks like something made in India. In retrospect AG Russell's push dagger is $195.00 this one is $39 and change so all in all I guess its worth the money with a little work the horn handle will shine you can buff the pits out of the sheath but I can't figure out how to keep the sheath from scratching the blade every time I take it out or put it in. If there was a 3 1/2 star rating I would give it that. With a little more attention yo detail this would be a five star product. I've spoken with customer service about the scratches they're sending labels for return. They said they've never encountered this issue before, this is a new batch from Windlass, so maybe they've had a glitch in the assembly. Customer Service gets five Stars!!!
