OVERVIEW

A close copy of a French Pattern cutlass, the Model 1861 cutlass replaced the M1841. The hilt is constructed of brass, with a leather-wrapped grip bound with twisted brass wire. The blade is tempered carbon steel. The sword comes complete with brass mounted leather scabbard with belt frog. Used by the United States and Confederate Army and Navy during the Civil War. The hand forged blades are tempered high carbon steel. Despite their affordable price and as-is condition (very good), these swords are fine replicas. They show signs of storage and may have surface rust, scratches, slight mold on leather which can be easily cleaned, etc. Very Limited Quantities.
