OVERVIEW

Gorgeous and deadly was the katana, some say the perfect sword. It’s hard to argue with this beauty.  Would Thor have been better off with a katana? After cutting with this Thunder God Katana we say yes. Hand forged Damascus steel is stunning and lightning quick. Solid zinc alloy tsuba with iron finish and Japanese Thunder God symbol. Authentic, genuine ray skin wrap w/purple Japanese purpose silk. Black lacquered saya.

This sword is extremely well balanced for ultra fast and supremely efficient cuts. The speed and power is undeniable. It’s very hard to find truly traditional fittings and even harder to afford them, but this does admirably well. The solid metal parts have intricate carvings, handle has genuine ray skin wrapped the traditional way with cotton. Blade is hand forged, high carbon steel with real hamon (temper line) for a hard edge and softer spine to absorb and disperse impact. Razor sharp. Matching hand carved wooden scabbard with black finish.

First off, I would like to give 5 stars to the customer service staff at Atlanta Cutlery. There was a problem with my first order (originating from the vendor side) but the people at AC/MRL were awesome to deal with and quick to make it right.
As to the sword itself.
The blade is exquisite, and worth the price alone. Mine is hair-shaving sharp, and the Damascus pattern is real and gorgeous.
The flaw in this sword is the fittings. It is obvious that this is where Ten-Ryu cut costs. The guard is very light and just feels cheap. But that is easily replaced. The wrappings on the hilt, while beautiful, feel a little loose and I worry that with use they will need to be replaced as well.
The blade is awesome, if only the fittings were a bit better I would have given it 5 stars.

$150 for a damascus katana! That was all it took. The purple saya helps it stand out against the black too.
